Terms of Service
The rules for using LekkerGig.
Last updated: 3 September 2026.
1. Who we are, and what these terms cover
LekkerGig ("LekkerGig", "we", "us") is currently operated by an individual trading as LekkerGig, not yet a registered company — see the About page for why, and our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information. By creating an account or otherwise using lekkergig.co.za (the "Platform"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.
2. What LekkerGig is (and isn't)
LekkerGig is a marketplace that introduces South African companies and individuals ("Posters") to South African workers ("Doers") for small, deliverable pieces of work ("gigs") — anything from a software fix to a home repair. We provide the listing, matching, and messaging-adjacent tools that bring the two sides together.
We are not an employer, staffing agency, or recruiter — a Doer is never LekkerGig's employee or contractor by virtue of using the Platform. We are also not a party to whatever agreement a Poster and Doer reach once matched: the actual work, its scope, deadlines, invoicing, payment, and quality are entirely between them. We don't process payment for the work itself, hold funds in escrow, or arbitrate disputes between a Poster and a Doer.
3. Accounts
You need an account to post a gig, apply to one, or view full gig details past the public preview. You must be at least 18, provide accurate information, and keep your login credentials confidential — you're responsible for activity under your account. Each account is either a Poster or a Doer account; switching between the two isn't currently self-serve. Admin access is granted manually and isn't available on signup.
4. Posting a gig, and approval
Posting a gig is currently free while LekkerGig is in early access — see the About page for more on that. We may introduce a fee later; if we do, it won't apply to a gig you've already posted, and we'll update these terms and give notice before charging anyone. Every new post is reviewed before it goes live; we may reject a post at our discretion (spam, duplicates, or anything that isn't a genuine gig). Applying to a gig is, and always will be, free for Doers.
5. Company identity and confidentiality
A Poster's identity is withheld from public gig listings until that gig is marked filled. Once revealed, it's visible to anyone who views that gig's page — this isn't a per-user disclosure. Don't attempt to circumvent this (for example, by asking an applicant to identify their employer before hiring), and don't use information you gain through the Platform to contact a Poster or Doer outside it in order to avoid a future posting fee.
6. Ratings and reviews
After hiring a Doer, a Poster may leave a star rating and a private written note. Reviews must be honest and based on an actual working relationship through the Platform — don't post false, defamatory, or retaliatory reviews. We may remove a review, or the account that posted it, if it violates this.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use LekkerGig to: post fraudulent, illegal, or misleading gigs or applications; scrape or bulk-extract data from the Platform; harass, discriminate against, or misrepresent yourself to another user; attempt to bypass the moderation or reveal mechanisms described above; or interfere with the Platform's normal operation (including attempting to access another user's account or data). We may suspend or remove an account or a post, without notice, for violating this.
8. Content you post
You keep ownership of whatever you post — gig descriptions, applications, portfolio links, profile photos and company logos, reviews. By posting it, you give us the license we need to store, display, and process it as part of running the Platform (for example, showing your logo next to a filled gig, or a Doer's avatar in an applicants list). You're responsible for making sure you actually have the right to post whatever you upload.
9. No warranty, limitation of liability
The Platform is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that a Poster will find a suitable Doer, that a Doer will get hired, that any listed gig or applicant is accurate, or that the work a Doer delivers will meet a Poster's expectations — we facilitate the introduction, not the outcome. To the fullest extent the law allows, LekkerGig isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform, or from any agreement, dispute, or work performed between a Poster and a Doer. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using the Platform, or ask us to close your account and delete your data (see the Privacy Policy for what "delete" means in practice), at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms, or if we're discontinuing the Platform.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Platform changes — particularly likely right now, given LekkerGig is still early and things like self-serve payment don't exist yet. We'll update the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and any dispute arising from them falls under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
